Professional Activities

Service to the public sector is a tradition at Bennett Kielson Storch DeSantis The partners and staff actively support and participate on a variety of professional committees at the national and state level. We have representation on committees of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. We have participated in conferences on governmental accounting sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers Association, the Association of School Business Officials and the New York State Association of Counties. We have been actively involved in the Government Accounting and Auditing and Public School Accounting Committees of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. These committees work closely with the Department of Audit and Control and have been responsible for enhancing the current report format and the required disclosures for municipal entities in New York State.

We keep our clients informed by issuing bulletins, newsletters and other publications that include subjects of interest to government officials. We periodically sponsor seminars and hold roundtable discussions on issues of local interest.
